Why do guys, suck like this?

Most of us are interested in a woman because of how she looks. I think most of us take a while to get past the initial desire from what they see and even though women make great friends, somewhere in our heads, we are still thinking about having with them. Even if it's clear that it's not part of the relationship, we're hopeful that one day she'll want us... Yes there are exceptions to every rule and there are women in my life that i would never want to have with but I never found them attractive to begin with. Even the guys that say no, that girl is just a friend, it's 99% because that's the decision she made not him and if she changed her mind, he'd probably go from friend to lover and risk the friendship...
