Detroit, New York, Los Angeles are run by liberals. How's their school systems doing?

Well im a student in Ann Arbor and I know my profile says other wise i still want to live back in CA. But our school systems here at the school that I am at are world known. The high school that im graduating from in a few weeks sends just about all its kids to major 4 year universities. Me myself im going to West Point and then to the Army. But other wise the school systems in Michigan and Detroit for that matter are some of the worst.
